One afternoon, I wake up naturally. 15:61—a time that shouldn't exist. My back is soaked, wrung out by absurd dreams. I wake from the heat. By the broken window, a sparrow holds a rose. Afternoon light, golden and almost unreal, rests on its wings. Then comes the dull ache after too much sleep. It's time to get up.
