Another blurred memory: once, I found a place hidden on a corner of the street, an entrance like a mouse hole, with faint light breathing inside. It was a world apart from ours, like a street from another century. At midnight, under dim fluorescent light, a wandering painter works in silence. Around him, cartoon figures rest, their parade long finished, trumpets and drums held loosely in sleep.
