Cordyceps

The lyrics vividly capture a relationship that has been gaslighted, resulting in the loss of one's
identity. It describes how the protagonist's identity was transformed by the false accusations
and harmful words of the woman, leading to a distorted perception of self.
The comparison to the overarching concept of Salad's new album adds depth to the
exploration of love during the teenage years. The metaphor of mold-infested leaves being
consumed by ants parallels the protagonist unknowingly succumbing to the negative
aspects of a relationship. This transformative process, similar to how mold takes over and
grows within an ant, eventually leads to the ant's demise.
Since the release of the single "Another," Salad's music has evolved from the EP album
"Beach Music." The track "Cordyceps" showcases the band's new musical direction,
characterised by the unique melodies that define Salad. The music now embodies elements
of Art Rock, Post Punk, and carries the essence of Alternative Rock.
