A freshman's inner monologue. I like the environment and the people here, but sometimes I still feel lost and crushed by peer anxiety.

They asked me “how’s life been?”
“Well, it’s kinda alright”
I swear it’s not a lie
A chance to learn and grow
Made a couple of new friends
In a wonderful place
But sometimes all this positive energy
suddenly disappears
Everybody knows where they’re going
Everybody moved on but me
Staring at the wall, dazed on my seat
Wandering, getting lost in my dream
It takes me more time to do the same thing
Busy every day but nothing’s complete
Walking alone on the rainy street
Struggling, sinking into my feelings
Do I really belong here?
