9m88 提到，〈Tell Me〉创作动机受到日本实境节目《双层公寓》参演者木村花的悲剧启发。22 岁的她因为节目播出内容后受到网路攻击，在 2020 年 5 月结束了自己年轻的生命。透过这首温柔、脆弱、勇敢的歌，她希望传递一项讯息给所有遭遇类似困境的人：“当黑暗来临时，你可以告诉自己不要活在别人的眼光当中，不要轻易把真实的自己，交给别人定义。”
