“I'm not a baby, but I hate to show maturity.” 试问有谁不曾盼望长大，却又讨厌那个装作成熟的自己呢？

Kingsley Mak 事隔两年带着最新单曲《Driver》回归。这次的主题延续了EP《17》对青少年成长的描述，并讨论迈入成年期的心境转变。歌曲透过儿时父亲开车接送的角色比喻成年人的责任，并诉说著成长中的孤独以及随之长出的坚强。

还记得小时候，很自然地坐在汽车的“后座”，享受被父母照顾的无拘无束吗？那是心里由衷的快乐与自由。相反，少年时期的我们好像更渴望得到“自主权”。父母的保护和教训犹如成长的负担、一种枷锁。于是，我们想尽办法摆脱他们的掌控，把握机会走自己的路。

在歌曲中，“驾驶座”代表的是大人的压力，也象征只有自己才能解决困难、继续前进。或许每个离家到陌生的地方生活的人，都不曾奢望找到成长的“避风港”。但与朋友和尊敬的人相背而行后，他意识到只有坦然接受挑战，才会明白何谓“独立”。

在编曲上，歌中每一次的停顿都寓意着心境上的转变。越发激烈的节奏也代表主角被迫成长，独自面对生活的进程。或许成长是一条孤独的单程路，但最后一段的副歌刻意营造出流行乐队“大合唱”的氛围，让有共呜的听众和那个稚嫩的自己一同唱着：成长的旅途再不孤单。
