《Pride Will Keep Us Apart, Always》是一首带著 post-punk、gothic rock 与 neo-classical 气质的曲子。 我想写的不是激烈分手，也不是谁伤害了谁。这首歌比较像一个房间：床单整理好了，咖啡已经冷了，行李箱摊在地上，里面有些东西还没收好。两个人都知道有些话该说，但也都太习惯维持体面，所以最后什么都没有真正发生。 我很喜欢那种“快要崩塌，却仍然站得很漂亮”的感觉。弦乐慢慢堆起来，像一座华丽但空心的建筑；贝斯和鼓机则一直保持冷静，好像提醒自己不要失控。 这首歌不是在说爱消失了，而是在说，有时候让人分开的不是恨，也不是谎言，而是骄傲。两个人都还在原地，没有谁知道该如何认错，你我都没学过。
