The Chapel We Meant to See

我后脑杓的档案柜里，似乎存放了不少不适合一再复习的往事。有时候，特别想忘记的，反而会自己浮现，让我一时手足无措。

渐渐地学会，直视那些记忆，翻找出一直都很美好的部分，隔几天再放回档案柜。

这次，我试著把一个不小心又跳出来的心碎往事，唱成一首平静的歌。（看看今晚能不能比较好睡。）

关于一个已经做了天使的好朋友：艺术面向的东西我们无所不聊，不一定互相同意，但是你会以为这辈子找不到第二个这种知音。那种，会坐下来跟我一起斟酌修改这首歌的歌词的人，尤其法文的部分。

我们曾经聊过，哪天可以一起坐海岸线的火车，去拜访那个绿色方舟外型的天主堂。

好啊，改天。
带吉他？
都可以。
那边有吃的吗？
不知道。

没改到。

我好像晚了二个多月，才知道他已经离开。我不认识他的家人，不知道要去哪里跟谁致意。他生日那天，我请假，坐车，去找那个天主堂。

The cross came first, above the roof
Then the little chapel by the road
A few old panes of coloured glass
Faded and weathered, yet they glowed

Beside it lay a flower bed
Half-forgotten, growing wild
I sat there with two sandwiches
And ate them both without a sound

All that way I held it in
Wiped my face and walked along
